Fujian Province supports the construction of cold chain logistics projects with huge market potential
The industrial market has huge potential
"The development of the cold chain logistics industry is of great significance to enriching the food market, ensuring food safety, ensuring effective and balanced market supply, and reducing consumer costs. It has become a favorable economic growth point." Wang Shizhe, chairman of Fujian Mintai Agricultural Products Market Co., Ltd. analyzed.
According to reports, at present, there is a large gap in the level of cold chain logistics at home and abroad. Data show that the cold chain circulation rate of fruits and vegetables in my country is only 10%, while the rate in the United States, Japan and Europe has reached 80% to 100%; therefore, the loss rate of vegetables after picking is 25% to 30% in my country, while in developed countries Around 5%. "If the loss rate of fruits and vegetables can be reduced from the current 30% to 5%, more than 100 billion yuan can be saved every year."
Zhang Shizheng, secretary-general of the Quanzhou Refrigeration Industry Association, told reporters that in daily life, people consume more than 30% of perishable food, and every time the temperature rises by 6°C, the growth rate of bacteria in food will double, and the shelf life of the product will increase accordingly. Shorten it in half. For food in a low-temperature environment, the growth and reproduction of most microorganisms can be inhibited. “Food can be stored for 18 months in a low temperature environment of minus 18°C, while it can be stored for 23 months at minus 23°C.”
The capacity of the production warehouse is approximately 260,000 tons
Yesterday, in the minus 23°C low-temperature warehouse of Fujian Mintai Agricultural Products Market Co., Ltd., workers were busy carrying boxes of chicken skewers in the white air-conditioning. "The cold chain logistics vehicles outside the cold storage are waiting to be loaded, and will then be distributed to major retail markets in Quanzhou for sale." said the on-site staff.
Zhang Shizheng revealed that currently, there are more than 70 cold storage companies in the city with a storage capacity of more than 500 tons. At the same time, many cold storages with a storage capacity of more than 10,000 tons, such as Jinjiang Luoshan, Dongshi, Shishi Xiangzhi, and Hongshan, are either under construction or about to be put into use. "The overall storage capacity that has been put into production is about 260,000 tons. If you add in the cold storage that is under construction or will be put into operation, the overall storage capacity in Quanzhou is about 310,000 tons."
The relevant person in charge of a refrigeration company in Quanzhou told reporters that the storage capacity of cold storage fluctuates greatly with the seasons. Every summer, from July to September, is the off-season for refrigeration companies. The company's fresh-keeping warehouse (the temperature is maintained at 0 to 5°C) The storage capacity is 5,000 tons, and the current storage capacity rate is only 50%. It mainly stores Xinjiang red dates, Chuanxiong, onions and other agricultural products. March to April is the peak season every year, and the cold storage is full, of which 3,000 tons of carrots are sold abroad. "Overall, the annual storage capacity rate is around 70%."
Still in the early stages
Over the years, although Quanzhou's cold chain logistics industry has been developing continuously, in Wang Shizhe's view, the speed of improvement is relatively slow and it is still in the initial stage of development.
"70% is also the overall storage capacity rate of Quanzhou cold storage companies throughout the year." Wang Shizhe said frankly, but the 30% vacancy rate does not mean that the cold chain logistics industry is saturated. The reason is that the layout of cold storage resources is not reasonable. For example, the cold storage near the sea is a production cold storage, mainly used as aquatic product acquisition and processing points; the cold storage near the inland is mainly used as a storage for circulation and trade; there are also some vegetable, fruit and meat processing enterprises with their own supporting cold storage. The overall industrial development is not yet large-scale. "At the same time, most cold chain logistics companies in Quanzhou are small in scale, and some companies fail to meet national standards in management, which restricts the development of the industry."
"One of the paths to promote the development of Quanzhou's cold chain logistics industry is centralized and large-scale development to form an industrial cluster with certain influence." Zhang Shizheng believes that, for example, most of Fuzhou's cold storages are "stationed" near Mawei Port; while one in Zhangzhou The storage capacity of Dongshan Island cold storage is nearly 300,000 tons. "The agglomeration effect increases the influence of local cold storage and also attracts the inflow of more agricultural products from all over the country."
In addition, Wang Shizhe analyzed that in addition to domestic trade circulation, port construction also needs to be further improved to allow more agricultural products to land from Quanzhou and be distributed to all parts of the country. "The market space for the import and export of agricultural products is quite huge. The squid, saury, and tuna imported from Taiwan alone account for more than 700,000 tons a year."
